How do the
doctors keep up-to-date on all of the current techniques and materials?
Our doctors at Lakeview Dental are
firm believers in constantly continuing their education so they can
stay abreast of the latest techniques. Both are active members of
the Crown Council,
a leading dental organization fostering excellence in patient and
community involvement. Together with Garth Brooks Touch'em All Foundation,
our office participated in the "Smiles for Life Campaign" and raised more than
$2.4 million dollars for sick children in 2001. Lakeview Dental also
sponsored a Rochester Redwings Game night to raise public awareness
of oral cancer and tobacco use.

We accept cash, personal checks and
all major credit cards such as Visa, MasterCard, American Express
and Discover. Your insurance plan co-pay is due at the time of your
visit, but we can bill deductible payments over a period of time
according to your particular situation. Please let us know ahead
of time if you desire to pay in installments, so we can structure
an appropriate plan for you.

At Lakeview Dental, we have a couple
of procedures available to help whiten your smile. By using Zoom!,
the latest in whitening technology, we can brighten your smile in
about an hour. We can also offer you a take-home whitening kit, which
will allow you to brighten your smile in about two weeks. Both techniques
are safe and effective. Our doctors can help evaluate the potential
for whitening your teeth, based on their current color and the causes
of discoloration. Click here to

We're located in a rural, idyllic
setting in Livonia, New York, but our dentistry is far from being "simple." We
use the latest technology, such as lasers, and the CEREC machine,
which allows us to provide crowns in one visit. We can provide dramatic
whitening of your teeth in about one hour. Everything in our practice
is geared towards your comfort and ease. That's the main reason we
are also dedicated to sedation dentistry, which gives us the ability
to provide you with dentistry while you sleep. It is our goal to
guarantee each patient has a positive experience while in our care.
Lakeview Dental has appeared several
times on Channel 10 and 13 News with Robin DeWind, Christine Web
and Liz Bonis, demonstrating the latest dental advancements. Drs.
Woodruff and Hirschfield, together with their team, are proud to
be one of the Rochester area's premiere dental practices.

We use the Waterlase dental laser
instead of the traditional noisy drill. Heat and vibration are the
source of most discomfort when using a traditional drill. The dental
laser does not transmit heat or vibration, allowing many dental procedures
to be performed without the use of anesthesia. In the hands of our
doctors, the dental laser provides pinpoint accuracy, reducing the
chances of damaging healthy tissue. We can gently perform soft tissue
procedures with little or no bleeding, and we can painlessly take
away root sensitivity on exposed root areas.

We believe bleeding gums is something
to be concerned about because it could be a sign of periodontal disease.
If it is at an advanced stage and left untreated, periodontal disease
can lead to tooth loss. No matter how much time we spend on beautifying
your teeth, it will not mean much if the gums are unhealthy. Your
gum tissue is the foundation of your teeth, and it must be maintained
at a healthy, gleaming pink pitch. Sometimes bleeding gums might
indicate something minor, like a toothbrush being used incorrectly,
but it can also be a sign of a very serious condition. Please visit
our office and let one of our doctors check it out.

At Lakeview Dental, our doctors are
certified in sedation dentistry and are members of the Dental Organization
for Conscious Sedation. We have found that for our more anxious patients,
a relaxing sleeping pill can help ease the jitters. Some patients
put off their dentistry for years because of their fears. We hope
if you're one of those patients, you will consider coming to our
practice. We will treat you with gentleness while you sleep. When
you awaken from your nap, you'll feel refreshed and will have a beautiful
smile. Click here to learn

One of the most commonly asked questions
regarding "sleep dentistry" concerns its safety and effectiveness.
For most of our patients, we prescribe Triazolam because of its historical
safety and effectiveness. While you're sedated, we continually monitor
your blood pressure, oxygen and pulse. When you wake up, the most
common side effect is dry mouth, which wears off with the medication.

Lakeview Dental has a number of ways
to improve the look of your front teeth without the use of braces.
For slightly crooked or unevenly worn teeth, a bit of reshaping and
the addition of porcelain veneers may be sufficient to give them
a bright, uniform look. In other cases, we can use Invisalign. We
create your customized removable appliances, called aligners, by
using the latest 3D computer technology. Invisalign is a state-of-the-art
alternative to braces that is virtually undetectable to other people,
and the average treatment time is from nine to eighteen months. We
would be happy to speak with you further about the option that best
suits your individual situation.

With a smile analysis, one of the
doctors will spend unrushed time with you to determine the proper
esthetics of your smile, how it relates to your facial symmetry,
lip line and teeth. Each person has a unique "perfect" smile,
one proportional and flattering to his or her face. With a smile
analysis, we can show you what your best smile can look like.

Here is where we create your new smile,
the one we designed together during your smile analysis. A variety
of techniques are available for us to create your new smile, from
porcelain veneers to tooth whitening to total smile rejuvenation.
Typically, total smile rejuvenation is a more complex process, but
a very rewarding one, resulting in a transformation of your smile
and your face. Some patients have looked even ten years younger when
we finished, and the psychological, positive impact on the patient
is astounding. One of our doctors will be happy to talk to you about
the possibilities available to you. If you've been thinking about
redesigning your smile, now is the time to set your dream into action.
