For
The Smile You've Been Dreaming About
Allow our team to provide you with
the smile you've been fantasizing about. At Lakeview Dental, our doctors
and staff are specialists in caring for
your oral health, and we hope you will find this to be the ideal dental
experience.
Esthetic Dentistry
In today's world, we all seem to lead fast-paced,
high profile lives that demand face-to-face contact. Because the smile
is the focal
point of our face, the way it looks can mean so much in how we
try to present and express ourselves. A balanced, harmonious, healthy
smile can help us portray self-assurance and confidence. With esthetic
dentistry, we can turn a nice smile into a dazzling one. Our new
technology can often create dramatic results by mending chips,
lightening discolorations, and closing gaps. For the most part,
all of these procedures are affordable, comfortable, and can be
completed in one or two appointments.
- Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers are a great substitute for crowns,
and can last up to 20 years. If you want a natural, lasting change to
your smile
with minimal tooth alteration to your front teeth, then porcelain
veneers can improve your smile dramatically by reshaping and whitening
your teeth.
- All-Porcelain Crowns
All-porcelain crowns are dental restorations that
cover the entire back tooth, solving large, cracked or leaking fillings
while still
looking natural. They repair a fractured or broken tooth, cover
a discolored or misshapen tooth, or can protect a tooth that had a
root canal treatment. Porcelain is the ideal material to camouflage
imperfection, and can have the same life-like characteristics
as tooth enamel, reflecting light and shadow in the same way.
- Onlays
(partial metal-free crowns)
- One Hour In-Office Whitening
Teeth discolor for many reasons, including
age, minerals, tobacco, antibiotics, and foods and beverages, such
as red wine and coffee.
Our proven in-office whitening system will remove these stains
to whiten and brighten your smile. To whiten your teeth, we use the
most advanced technology available, called Zoom! The process takes
about an hour and the results are dramatic--up to eight shades
whiter.
You can go on with your day right away with a whiter, brighter
smile. Zoom! is ideal for anyone wanting immediate results.

Sedation Dentistry
Imagine
not being afraid to go to the dentist, and being able to accomplish all
of your dental care in one appointment. That is
what sedation dentistry can do for you, and Dr. Hirschfield is one
of the most dedicated, accomplished dentists in sedation dentistry.
He has taken many courses in conscious sedation, so you can
rest assured of his expertise.
We understand some people are afraid of going to the dentist. Whether
it was a bad experience as a child or some other issue, the fear
makes it difficult to maintain a healthy smile. The problem is oral
health can deteriorate to a critical stage, and that is why we are
so concerned. At Lakeview Dental, we feel dealing with our patients'
concerns is just as important as attending to their oral health.
Therefore we offer sedation dentistry.
If you've been putting off years of dentistry because of your fears,
sedation dentistry may be for you. How does it work? Dr. Hirschfield
will give you a pill to swallow at home, which will have an effect
in less than hour. A trusted companion will drive you to our office
where you will be treated with great care. After the visit, you will
find you won't remember very much, and your nice smile is now a dazzling
one. Then a responsible adult will take you home and care for you
for the next few hours. In the evening, Dr. Hirschfield will call
you to make sure everything is all right.
Dr. Hirschfield belongs to the Dental Organization for Conscious
Sedation, a group dedicated to the safe and effective management
of sedation dentistry. Please visit www.sedationcare.com,
or please call for an audio cd or tape for more information.
Invisible
Braces
If the thought of wearing braces is holding you
back from the smile you've always wanted, we have good news. The
doctors at Lakeview
Dental can treat you with Invisalign, a state-of-the art alternative
to braces that is virtually undetectable to other people. Invisalign
straightens your teeth with a series of clear, customized, removable
appliances called aligners. For mild cases of spacing or crowding,
treatment time ranges from nine to twelve months, and for moderate
cases, treatment can range from twelve to eighteen months.
To ensure the best possible results, Lakeview Dental is a general
dental practice trained and experienced in orthodontics, and certified
by Invisalign Orthodontic Systems.
Laser Dentistry
With laser dentistry, we can perform treatments faster
than ever before and without the drill. With our Waterlase
laser,
there are
no drills, no needles and no numbness. Our dental laser does
not transmit heat or vibration, the usual source of discomfort when
treated with the traditional drill, allowing many dental procedures
to be performed without anesthesia. We use the laser for many
procedures,
including decay removal, cavity preparation, smile design, general
soft tissue procedures, and general dentistry for the enamel
and dentin. Plus, if you happen to have a cold sore on the day of
your
dental procedure, a little zap of our laser can hasten the healing.
With our DIAGNOdent laser, we can detect cavities earlier than ever
before. We have found about 50 percent of decay in teeth goes undetected
with traditional diagnostic methods. But, by using our new DIAGNOdent
laser, we can diagnose "hidden" decay more accurately and
confidently, thereby making better treatment decisions earlier.
- Among
the benefits of laser dentistry:
- Faster healing
- Reduced risk of infection
- Decreased sensitivity
- Less time in the dental chair
- Less bleeding
- Less post-operative pain
One-Visit Crowns
At Lakeview Dental, we can create your crown in just one visit.
We use CEREC 3, a high-tech computer machine, to manufacture
the
crown, veneer or filling. We will recreate your tooth on the
computer to make a restoration that will precisely fit into
the prepared
area. The restoration is then milled out of a solid block of
porcelain. These restorations are durable pieces of porcelain
that are bonded
to the tooth, allowing for minimal tooth structure removal. Conventional
procedures usually take two visits, but the CEREC 3 makes it
possible
in one single visit. For more information, please visit www.planetcerec.com
Preventive Services
Preventive dental hygiene services are the foundation
of all our dentistry. We focus on keeping your gums and periodontal
tissue
healthy and robust, so they remain capable of holding your teeth
firmly in place. Unfortunately periodontal disease affects more
than 80 percent of the population, and dental plaque and tartar
must constantly be kept at bay. That is why we recommend regular
cleanings. For many patients this means every six months, but
for other patients, it may be necessary to visit more often.
Our approach
is very conservative. Our non-surgical method uses the latest antibiotic
therapy techniques to fight the bacteria that
causes advanced forms of periodontal disease.
- Cleaning or Hygiene
- Regular Checkups
- Non-surgical periodontal therapy
We use Arestin, an antibiotic administered
directly into the infected pockets between your teeth. Usually,
we will administer Arestin
after scaling and root planing, a common procedure used to
treat periodontal
disease. We have found Arestin is an excellent treatment
for chronic periodontitis, an infection of the gums that can lead
to tooth
loss. Arestin significantly reduces the depth of infected
pockets
and helps
prevent disease progression.
- Periodontal Disease Therapy
The word periodontal literally means "around the tooth." Healthy
gum tissue fits like a cuff around each tooth. Where the gum line
meets the tooth, it forms a slight v-shaped crevice called a sulcus.
In healthy teeth, this space is usually three millimeters or less.
Periodontal
diseases are infections that affect the tissues and bone that
support teeth. As the tissues are damaged, the
sulcus develops into a pocket that is greater than three millimeters.
Generally, the more severe the disease, the greater the pocket
depth and bone loss. The enlarged pockets allow harmful bacteria
to grow and make it difficult to practice effective oral hygiene.
Left untreated, periodontal diseases may eventually lead to
tooth loss.
- Periodontal Treatment
If the disease is caught very early
(gingivitis), you may simply be given instructions
on improving your daily
oral hygiene.
The first non-surgical step usually involves
a special cleaning, called scaling and root planing, to remove
plaque and tartar
deposits on the tooth and root surfaces. This
procedure
helps gum tissue to heal and pockets to shrink.
This
is sometimes
referred to as deep cleaning and may take more
than one visit.
You don't have to lose teeth to periodontal
diseases. Brush, clean between your teeth, eat a balanced diet,
and schedule regular
dental visits for a lifetime of healthy smiles.
Patient Comfort
At Lakeview Dental, we hope our "home-like" atmosphere
will make you feel relaxed. Many of our patients leave our practice
in a much calmer mood than when they entered, and we like to think
it's because of our friendly and cheerful team, but we also know
it might have to do with the amenities we offer such as Tempur-Pedic
chair pads, foam-like pads that shape to the contour of your body.
We also offer a comfort syringe, which helps us administer anesthesia
to patients without them even feeling the needle. We do everything
we can to make you feel at ease while you are in our care.
Sterilization
Center
We use state-of-the-art antiseptic procedures. Our sterilization
procedures meet the Center for Disease Control guidelines.
- We heat
sterilize handpieces and instruments.
- We use gloves, masks, gowns,
eye protection and barrier covers.
- We use only ADA-approved disinfectants.
Our Limited Dental Warranty
Lakeview Dental is proud of the dentistry
we provide for you and your family. Our goal is not just to correct
any dental problems
you may have, but also to show you how to prevent dental disease
in the future, and to save you time and unnecessary expense.
The long-term treatment success of the treatment we provide depends
on the care of your teeth and gums at home, and on regular professional
appointments.
Composite (tooth-colored) Fillings
If a composite restoration is
the recommended treatment of choice, we will replace or repair
it in the event of a failure for a
period of two years. If the restoration itself breaks or fractures
within
two years, and requires an onlay or crown, we will credit the
initial cost of the filling towards the crown. You must keep
up the prescribed
recall (checkup) appointments and x-rays, or this warranty
is null and voice (minimum every six months.)
Root Canals
Root canal treatment is 96 percent successful. They do
occasionally fail. If you lose your tooth within five years due
to failure of
the root canal, we will credit the fee for the root canal toward
the fee for a replacement tooth. You must keep up the prescribed
recall appointments or this warranty is null and void (minimum
every 6 months).
Crowns, Bridges, Inlays, Onlays and Porcelain
Veneers
We will warranty these laboratory-made restorations for
a full five years. We will replace or repair them at no charge
during the five-year
period if the restorations break, decay or loosen with normal
use. This does not include accidents that could also break normal,
healthy
teeth. Breakage or fracture of the natural tooth supporting
a crown, inlay, onlay or veneer, is not covered by this warranty.
Breakage
of fracture of the restoration itself is covered by this warranty.
Dentures
and Partial Dentures
We will warranty dentures and partials for
a period of five years, if a tooth or the denture breaks under
normal use. Accidents
such as dropping your denture are not covered.
