Sue has always hated going to the dentist, but recently when she needed some work done she decided to visit our office. Okay, I'm Sue, and I hate the dentist. I hate going to the dentist, I've always hated going to the dentist. I knew I had to have some work done, so I came to Dr. Hirschfield, who offered a couple of suggestions. Now, yes, I still get a little bit jittery when I come, even for a cleaning. Don't need sedation for that, don't get really as nervous as I used to. So sedation has helped me overcome some of my fears but also helped me get through a really kind of complicated process. I sat in the chair, they took my blood pressure, put a little needle in for an IV, which was a little pin prick. Within, I don't know, five or ten seconds, I was out and then before I knew it, I was waking up to the process being finished. Time does fly when you're under sedation. Didn't hurt at all, there was a little bit of pain afterwards but nothing really bad. I would definitely recommend sedation to anybody who's having a problem with coming to the dentist or having some major stuff done. It does take the fear and anxiety out of the whole process and helps you to attain things that you wouldn't otherwise be able to do.
