Dental Bridges
Losing a tooth or failing to fill a gap after an extraction can substantially impact your dental health.
At Livonia Smiles in Lakeville, NY, we offer several different high-quality dental bridge options.
Don't go through life hiding your smile. Read on to discover how a dental bridge can improve your confidence.
What Is a Dental Bridge?
A dental bridge is a type of custom restoration that can replace one missing tooth or several missing teeth in a row. Dental bridges can repair gaps in your smile by relying on support from dental crowns or dental implants. Typically made from materials like porcelain, a dental bridge is created to match the color of your teeth and look completely natural.
Whether you have a missing tooth or several missing teeth, Drs. Brian Hirschfield and Brenda Flores Sousa provide all of our Lakeville, NY, patients with optimal dental care through a holistic, health-oriented approach.
At Lakeview Dental, our doctors use high-quality materials, like zirconia, to craft our bridges. We also use a local U.S. dental lab to ensure each and every restoration is held to the very highest standards.

What About Implant Bridges?
Patients who choose an implant-supported bridge must first have the implants surgically placed in the jaw. After the area heals for four to six months, abutment pieces are placed on the implants to secure the dental bridge.
Candidacy Checklist for Implant-Supported Bridges
Implant-supported bridges have greater stability and security than traditional bridges, but not all patients are candidates for implants. Good candidates for implant-supported bridges have sufficient bone density where the tooth or teeth are missing.
Patients who have inadequate bone density may be able to undergo a bone graft or a sinus lift to strengthen the treatment area.
The best dental implant candidates are also non-smokers who are in good oral health. Diabetic patients should have the condition under control in order to avoid implant failure.
